David Smith joined STAR 1989. Since then, he earned experience in all facets of consumer and commercial banking. After overseeing the Columbia City region’s lending activity as senior vice president since 2001, David became the Columbia City regional president in 2006.
A lifelong resident of northeastern Indiana, David currently serves as a board member for the Whitley County Community Foundation and Questa Foundation. He also devotes time as a committee member for the Whitley County United Way’s Day of Caring.
After graduating from Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, he earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Indiana University Purdue University – Fort Wayne and graduated from both the IBA Commercial Lending School in Indianapolis and the American Bankers Association Commercial Lending School in Oklahoma City.
