Indiana Born for Indiana Banking
In 1943, a small group of individuals - led by the Marcuccilli and the Wright families - was taking steps that would forever change their futures and those of their successors. Selah G. Wright, and Ralph and Tom Marcuccilli, in partnership with a small group, bought their first bank - the Upland Branch of the Citizens State Bank of Fairmount located in Grant County, Indiana, for $28,000. This was the beginning of the financial organization that became STAR Financial Bank.
Today, STAR employs over 500 people in 37 branches across northeast and central Indiana and has become one of Indiana’s largest independent, locally owned institutions.
